Hi, we are so glad you’re here!

Welcome to Mary Jane Doula Collective, a compassionate movement founded in 2021 by Kristin Reiswig to revolutionize perinatal care through education, advocacy, and stigma-free support. Our mission is to make cannabis-informed care widely accessible, ensuring that parents have the knowledge and resources to make informed choices throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

As a certified birth and postpartum doula with a Cannacian™ Level 3 certification as a medical cannabis counselor, I saw the need for more education among birth workers. This led to the creation of a curriculum designed for doulas and birth professionals to become cannabis-informed, equipping them with the tools to support clients with confidence and compassion. Through this work, Mary Jane Doula Collective was born, with the hope of having cannabis-informed doulas in every state.

Mary Jane Doulas are committed to:

  • Open-mindedness – meeting every parent where they are.

  • Continuing education – staying informed to provide the best care.

  • Mindfulness – being present, grounded, and intentional.

  • Creating safe spaces – holding space with care and respect.

We are here to foster a community where families feel heard, valued, and supported every step of the way.

Our Mission

At Mary Jane Doula Collective, we believe in nurturing individuals through their perinatal journey with compassion, respect, and unwavering support.

Our mission is to provide a safe haven for pregnant and postpartum individuals, free from judgment and fear. We empower parents with information and clarity on cannabis use, offering guidance and understanding as they navigate this unique chapter of their lives. With our compassionate care and commitment to destigmatizing cannabis in pregnancy and postpartum, we strive to create a community where every individual feels empowered to make informed choices that prioritize their well-being and the health of their baby.

Community Statement

It is our shared responsibility to ensure every member of our Mary Jane Doula Collective Community is valued and respected regardless of race, religious beliefs, gender identity, sexual orientation, relationship status, etc.

We believe that learning about and respecting the diversity of humankind is an essential part of family support and parenting.

We encourage our families, staff, and members of the community to celebrate the inclusiveness and diversity that contributes to growth, success, safety, and quality of life for everyone.

Anti-Racist Statement

We recognize structural racism/ethnic discrimination and other forms of oppression have contributed to persistent disparities which we seek to dismantle.

We understand that these disparities have existed in the past and persist into the present.

We acknowledge that these inequities are the result of policies and practices that work to marginalize entire populations of people.

We unequivocally denounce racism/ethnic discrimination because it undermines the well-being and vitality of our communities.

We strive to engage community members, especially those whose voices have traditionally been marginalized, to co-create solutions that ensure everyone has the resources, supports, opportunities and networks they need to thrive.

We commit to leveraging our assets, advocating for change, and participating in movements to create more equitable communities.
